I hate it when live chat reps ask "How can I help you today?" after I've already carefully entered my problem into the previous form that initiated the support chat.

iOS Spotlight search result delays make me mis-tap nearly *every* time.

@psufka I hope that 5th amendment is still in effect.

@danielgenser Yes. Just hit `return`. Will make file “Untitled.1” “Untitled.2” “Untitled.3” …. Not as elegant as Drafts.

@thedaveca If it’s a place you go a lot and want the convenience of geolocation/passbook, then Passdock is pretty easy to use.
            zenfire
@thedaveca That would be ideal. I only worry about the scanner. Many older cheaper scanners can’t read LCDs. I don’t expect anything from clerks but if it turns out to be a manager and they ask if I want. A loyalty card I ask “is it available as an app”?
              zenfire
@thedaveca I try to get in lines with younger looking employees.
                zenfire
@thedaveca I have not tried this anywhere that is not already used to scanning phones, at least at a corporate policy level. Some individuals look confused but I can tell they’ve at least had a class they’re trying to remember.
                  zenfire
@thedaveca Yep. To be fair all already have an app, but just crap/slow and doesn’t have geolocation/passbook support. **So the social dynamic is already there.** Only difference is it looks a bit different to them and I can pull it up from home screen.
                    zenfire
@thedaveca If I had to talk to them, I wouldn’t use it. Antisocial nerd avoidance.

@thedaveca Never had a problem before but I think all the stores I go to have the right type of scanner already so it just works(TM). Some scanners won’t read off of LCDs. e.g. @ the grocery store they need to use the hand scanners not the flatbed.

@manton @devwiththehair @secondgear I make my own for rewards cards at my grocery store, coffee shop, etc.

@jools Agreed. Retina is nice but the cost in battery/heat makes super-retina ridiculous.
                            zenfire
@jools I’m calling BS on that one. As you imply, it would be pointless.
                              zenfire
@isaiah I’d prefer the safety issue was handled in a more robust manner such as shielding the plane’s electronics. Seems strange to take away people’s fingernail clippers for safety but then hope they turn off their devices.

@rhwood I’ve never seen that. I typically fly Southwest (by choice) and American (not by choice). Do you remember what airline did that?
                                  zenfire
@rhwood Even before cell phones no one paid attention to the pre-flight show.
                                    zenfire
@bynkii @manton @danielpunkass @isaiah If it’s really dangerous then I’d want the airlines to do more than ask us to turn them off because I see many people that don’t turn them off and even when I meant to, I’d forget.
