      Submitted v1.1 of Flippy Unicorn to the store. Now with game center support and new rainbow farts. Thanks to everyone who has bought a copy. My daughter is so proud of her artwork. We're also humbled that people who are not my mom say it's a fun game.

        @kirbyt I’m already working on Game Center. Kitty is drawing the achievement badges as I write this. It totally needs leaderboards. Good idea about steering. I redid the rainbow particle emitter. It’s much cooler.

          @kirbyt Sprite Kit was the special sauce. In the past I could never turn things around fast enough to keep the kids interested for more than one or two iterations.

            @fmcauley I have an IT/MBA crossover type degree. It was very helpful when I became a CIO and even more helpful when I quit that to become an Indie developer.

              Flippy Unicorn has gone live! https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/flippy-unicorn/id839557990?mt=8 Trying to hook my daughter on the idea that making games can become a job. If you can spare the 99 cents I would appreciate it.

                @roberthaworth @fifthposition I've recently been thinking that a UITableviewContoller was just a convenience for new iOS folks as it breaks MVC. I've even gone so far as making a separate class for my Datasource/delegate so I can do unit tests.

                  @roberthaworth @fifthposition that's what I do, embed the table view in a view controller and keep going.

                    A soundtrack heavy on OutKast and Ludacris makes for a surprisingly effective debug session.

                      Oh wait...the error log continues: "An exception has been avoided for now. A few of these errors are going to be reported with this complaint, then further violations will simply silently do whatever random thing results from the nil."

                        Oh Apple Engineers...such a cheeky bunch " *** -[__NSCFCalendar components:fromDate:]: date cannot be nil I mean really, what do you think that operation is supposed to mean with a nil date?"

                          @mrgan that's allowed?!? And all this while I keep spending money on designers.

                            Found myself telling the lunch table about how we wrote Fortran code with punch cards and then gave them to a little man who gave us our output on paper some time later. They didn't believe me at first. Man did I feel old.

                              Happily discovering that Charlesproxy app works with android devices. Possibly the best $50 I have spent in recent memory.

                                @fahrni @aphroditesw we’re using Core Data. We basically followed the RestKit idea of creating a mapping for each entity. Late in the project I remembered Objectify app. If I was ding it again, I might use that to cut down on the typing.

                                  @aphroditesw @fahrni we just spent a few weeks removing RestKit from a project. Mostly because we wanted to use AFNetworking 2

                                    Coming to realize that Server.app isn’t actually suitable for work. Back to the command line and the proven unix based tools.

                                      @griotspeak where can I find clang-format?

                                        @griotspeak Now, release your anger. Only your hatred can destroy Xcode.
