@0xmf Totally! I haven't felt the need to shut down or completely migrate away; pretty sure I still pay for an account. I'm not super optimistic about the future biz plan for ADN but I'll stick around to see what happens in that respect, too!

@0xmf are you still super active here? Is this place still super active in general? :-)
      va
@0xmf I mean, no promises, in the sense that I never think to post here unless I have a really important geeky thought that exceeds 140 characters. :) I can't explain the reason for the shift except socially, ya know? Lots of ADN folks on Twitter now!

I haven't followed the ADN goings-on closely, but I get the sense that the community will shift even more after today. And for all that the product/service itself was cool, it's the people I've met here that have been the real value. Let's stay in touch.

This is probably the only time I'm ever going to do this here, but: if y'all are leaving and you wanna hang out on Twitter, come find me! http://twitter.com/askvirginia. I don't think I'll leave, but it's not like I've been all that "here" lately anyway.

Please know that this is all in good feminist fun: @grantr informs me that there was a hummingbird by the window. I ask whether it was male or female. He says he thinks female, because "its colors were muted… and it was only getting 70% of the nectar."

I kind of delight in making Google tech support reps begrudgingly laugh about their employer. “So what you’re telling me is that this Google product needs to catch up to Microsoft’s latest tech-forward product? That sentence has never been uttered before."
                  va
@andrewthornton Ha, I haven't even finished my migration yet! You just wait. :)

@andrewthornton Me too! In all honesty, personalized coaching helps the most, but you can scour the free stuff first if budget is an issue.

@andrewthornton Aww, I'm glad you're liking it! What's been the most helpful so far?
                        va
@andrewthornton Sounds like you found exactly what you need for some self-study—feel free to circle back if/when you want more customized help.

@andrewthornton I know. It's a sad reality, but it's definitely accurate in terms of statistical info about who is most at risk when meeting strangers on the Internet. You can do your part by never being one of the creepy/scary guys! ^_^
                            va
@andrewthornton you want to avoid seeming like you followed a rule or template even if that's exactly what you did. It's a very subtle art.
                              va
@andrewthornton There is and there isn't. The rules depend on what you're like and who you're after, haha. I do have a free messaging guide on my site too. Your question is just too vague for me to answer confidently without knowing you better!

@andrewthornton seeing your face and hearing your voice helps me understand you better and tailor my advice to you, ya know? It's part of how my MBTI works, haha. Please follow up with me via my contact page now that my site actually works. :)

@andrewthornton We should totally chat about this. Online dating coaching is how I make my living, so my ability to give free support is limited, but I'm happy to have a quick chat to help you figure this stuff out. It's best if we can talk or video chat.
