    @thomasbrand What is your editor of choice in Gnome? I'm currently on a gedit kick.

      @willjhopkins I was trying to learn the muscle memory to become more proficient with VIM, but settle for gEdit whenever I can.

        @thomasbrand likewise. Since keeping my vim profile in sync is a pain I’ve been working more with gedit as I move machines frequently, but my heart lies with vim always.

          @willjhopkins what special tricks do you have in your VIM profile you can't live without?

            @thomasbrand i map ctrl-n to n. this way i can do a find the next thing and do what i just did with a single keystroke. and control n is close enough to feel like it's a natural part of the command.

              @thomasbrand I'm very attached to my color scheme and line/tab settings. Reconfiguring them is a pain when switching lab machines. I'm also getting into Dr. Bunsen's text triumvirate: http://www.drbunsen.org/text-triumvirate.html
