@thaddeus @uliwitness @danimal So the good news is it should work. Excellent. Wonder why it stopped working on the MBP. Might have to dig it out of storage.

@garrettmurray I use “Navicat for SQLite” and it’s been working ok.

@danimal @uliwitness @thaddeus I’ve got mine mounted to a G4 iMac. It stopped working on my previous MBP when Snow Leopard came out and I haven’t moved it since. Do they still work in Mavericks using an adapter? If so, need to buy one ASAP.

@pilky Using a full 3D engine for 2D is bit of overkill, but the new built-in 2D tools make it much easier than it used to be. Unity is fantastic if you can live with the overhead.

Xcode ProTip™: While creating a new class, you can not only specify its superclass, but also any protocols it implements directly in the text field. Boom. photos.app.net/22931500/1

@berklee @tonymillion Coming in really late to this (sorry), but have you pulled out an SD card or USB disk before the OS has finished writing? Data loss is fun! Always wait for the flashing lights to stop on Windows.

One of my services is under DDOS. Over 4M req in 48hrs, with a peak of 118k req/h. Finally rate-limited nginx after banning IPs got tedious. Working fine though, even during the worst of it. So I guess I’ve load tested it now, if somewhat involuntarily.

@jeffcarlson Fortunately, selecting “Integrated Only” keeps it from happening, and I just have to keep an eye out for certain software that on quit somehow forces the discrete graphics to turn on.

@jeffcarlson If it’s the same issue my MBP has, it’s a hardware issue with the nvidia card that requires replacement. I installed http://gfx.io and I make sure to select the integrated Intel card on boot.

@scruffyfox Congratulations! You haven’t made it in software development until someone blatantly pirates your software. =/

Twitter lets me know it’s baseball season by having people insult me, not realising I’m not the short stop for the Boston Red Sox.

@jedi @mdhughes I think my favourite part of the article is that Scooby Doo causes obesity. #TheMoreYouKnow

First time I’ve had an iPhone’s screen shatter. It was bound to happen eventually, and frankly I’m surprised it took this long. This 4 had a good run.

I am forever divided between my obligation to understand new and interesting things happening on the internet as a means of helping our business and my exhausted desire to never hear about another new and interesting thing happening on the internet.
