First challenge of syncing is deciding which approach to take knowing that once you set off it will be a lot of work before you know if you made the right choice.

@justin Hi justin. I am putting together a new podcast based on the issues of having to develop for multiple platforms. Covering issues such as native vs cross platform etc. Hoping you will be a guest?

@justin Did you get my email about a podcast interview

@kevinhoctor @manton With financial data you have the biggest risk when it comes to sync. At least with dropbox and iCloud its the users own service the data is on
                  scotty
@kevinhoctor @manton True … but accessing content on dropbox and using dropbox for sync are two different problems
                    scotty
@manton @kevinhoctor Yep stuff like photos where people might want them in one place for many apps justify using stuff like dropbox … for most data though it just add complexity
                      scotty
@manton @kevinhoctor Another reason to use your own servers for sync is all of these problems go away.
                        scotty
@kevinhoctor @tonyarnold I am always poor … the fact that you can all afford violins and I can’t only goes to prove it :-)
                          scotty
                            @tonyarnold @kevinhoctor I don’t think I can afford the membership fee
                            scotty
@manton @danielpunkass And then they can listen to me and @djembe waffle on about it as well (also posting today)

@kevinhoctor The PCI Flash SSD is a lot faster again. The only downside of the air is I could only get a 500GB SSD and 8GB of RAM. 1TB and 16GB would make it perfect
                                scotty
@kevinhoctor I bought a 11” air after wwdc last year. It is an amazing machine , plenty powerful enough for development and a perfect laptop for travel. I do want a retina machine so will look to get an iMac for my office when they go retina
                                  scotty
@kevinhoctor Yes … your scotch bill must be quite high at SF bar prices
                                    scotty

                                      scotty
@kevinhoctor Oh and did I mention I am broke right now :-)
                                        scotty
@kevinhoctor Also hoping they will announce a retina iMac and will then buy one of those with the money I save.
