Update on sugar addiction: I've gotten through most of the cravings. My diet has improved somewhat as well now that I need carbs from something other than candy and soda. I'm not likely going to get any sort of HFCS soda anywhere other than a restaurant.
For the past two weeks, I've been off sugar for the most part. No sodas, no candy, no chocolate. Desserts and lightly flavored beverages are fine. I can't say I feel physically better, but I'm happy to be beating the cravings.
What is the alternative? I can only be a loner for so long. I need a close friend, and have the very best one—1,000 miles away in LA. This four day visit cost me upwards of $300 and was worth every cent, every hour I had to work.
