@reneritchie Been thinking an iPad mini + Pebble wouldn’t be such a bad idea.

@stwrz Woah; I didn't realize that he was on ADN.. and he's active, too! That guy actually knows stuff.

@reneritchie @chartier Soon to be followed up with Using Your Toaster to Boil Water, right? ;)

@reneritchie I call the Galaxy Note 2 the “iPad nano”, wonder if it’s fair in that case to call the iPad mini the “Galaxy Note 2 Macro”

@amahnke @chartier Throwing it in the bathtub as we speak!

@reneritchie If someone wanted to go all out… 1. Port cell number to Google Voice. 2. Forward GV to Skype. 3. Set Skype caller ID as GV number ($30/yr). (Now incoming and outgoing calls are the old cell number.) 4. Install Skype on iPad.

@maxime @reneritchie @urbanape This would have been extremely useful a while ago. Unfortunately, China blocked OpenVPN a couple of months ago. Stuck with IPSec, I guess.

@atdrendel @reneritchie @urbanape oh god. How sad a country does this kind of things.

@stwrz No Google Voice in Canada, sadly.

@reneritchie Seriously? That’s crazy sauce. I get the impression Voice isn’t a priority for Google.

@stwrz @reneritchie This was just an issue for me. I have a US google voice number from when I lived there, but I'm living in Toronto right now. I'd like to have a google voice number for my business so I'm not giving my personal number out.

@jr @reneritchie Can you sign up for a Skype number? For us, that costs $30/year.

@stwrz yep that's the next option for me. I like Google Voice's interface, though. Maybe I'll port my number there whenever they launch in Canada. @reneritchie

@stwrz Actually, just realized that Skype does not offer Canadian area codes for a Skype number... that's a drag.

@jr Wow, bummer. Surely there’s a similar service up there.
