@tewha @kevinhoctor I think it was common in the early Mac days. Lightspeed Pascal used a proportional font (Geneva, probably). I think HyperCard did too.

@tewha Settled on Lucida Grande and Avenir Light as my favorite non-fixed-width programming fonts. Biggest annoyance is that the colons don't line up in Objective-C method calls that are split across lines.

@tewha One of my favorite things about Sublime Text is that you can set the line spacing. I find that almost every font I use for coding looks better with some additional space.

@tewha Zapfino is a fine choice, as is Herculanum. But seriously, it looks like I'll be using Lucida Grande 14 today.

@tewha Dammit, now I'm going to have to play with font settings. Thanks a lot.

@tewha Wish I could find a decent programmer's editor that handled non-fixed-width fonts. Ideally I'd like automated literate-programming-like formatting, but every editor I've tried either doesn't support non-fixed-width, or makes it look terrible.

@tewha I code in Helvetica once in a while. Hard to find other fonts that have readable punctuation. Commas, periods, semicolons, and braces/brackets are often indistinguishable at non-huge sizes.

@tewha I thought that too, a couple of months ago when I needed to do some XML parsing. I wonder what actually got added that we don't remember.

If Apple doesn't make a Retina iPad mini this year then I am going to become an Android guy and will have to write more Java and I hate Java so please Apple make a Retina iPad mini.

While scrolling through my ADN feed, I suddenly realized why my app wasn't working. So, see, this isn't a waste of time at all. <continue scrolling>

I want both Xcode and AppCode to stop showing fucking main.m on a crash, it is never helpful.

@padraic Stream didn’t work well for me. Was fine for the first 45 minutes, then stopped completely for half an hour. Saw a few minutes here and there after that, but was down more often than up.

@longstride Many companies would barcode and track their employees if legally permitted to do so.

I don't agree with everything here, but anyone writing about "market share" needs to read it: http://techpinions.com/androids-market-share-is-literally-a-joke/16709 (via @benbajarin)

Tried Path Finder for the past week. Unimpressed. Was probably a great thing a few OS X releases ago, when the Finder was terrible.

@tewha I enjoy SANDMAN. It is really an anthology series with lots of different stories that are only loosely connected. Gaiman is good at creating stories.
