    Seeing the iWatch frothing reminds me that we live on “an utterly insignificant little blue-green planet whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think digital watches are a pretty neat idea.”

      @kkob And the iOS 8 wish lists will be born soon after!

          Felix has nice typography but the puck navigation makes my head hurt.

            @duerig This is a interesting discussion. For an app that I’m working on I’m also looking for a way to store custom locations on ADN. Abusing a private channel for that would work if it’s just a few of them but makes me cringe. @stevestreza @manton

                @markmcbride Well, at least not for putting your awesome new idea on ADN. It’s great for developers who want to build and improve on the work/idea someone else started. #rambleover @po

                  @markmcbride If you build on ADN other developers can come and create a new client using “your” data model and piggy back on your idea. It’s great for users and innovation, but it’s not completely aligned with what’s in the interest of developers. @po

                    @markmcbride That’s indeed a tough question. As a developer, if you create your own walled garden you build safety for your project. It locks users in and makes it harder for them to switch to the competition. @po

                          @po @duerig Agreed. Chat rooms and forums/reddit-style boards fulfil different purposes. Chat rooms focus on the X most recent messages, while reddit-style focuses on the X most popular ones. @zero

                            @adrianus It’d be quite a challenge! It’s only a matter of time... someone’s gonna do it ;)

                              @adrianus You can do the same by using emojis.

                                .@ibanez To me that’s the difference between alpha and ADN. Alpha is very much a Twitter clone, but ADN is a platform on which to build social applications. Once other types of apps built using ADN become more popular that confusion will resolve itself.

                                    @manton Good to know. That rap genius article and follow up was very interesting and made me less likely to use Heroku for more serious work. Hope things will work out for you!

                                        Simperium sounds great but so did the promise of iCloud CoreData sync. Given that Simplenote lost a bunch of my notes before, I am not sure if it's worth trying. Does anyone here have experience with it? #iosdev
