@manton @marc It’s fair to say Apple is more trustworthy than some random startup, but that attitude also promotes “why would I bother with your little app”.

@manton @marc Note that it icloud does exactly what Marc doesn’t like—uploads and stores all your contacts info. ALL of it. (Most matching schemes use just the email addresses.)

@marc the other ways all suck and you wouldn’t like them *shrug*

@marc Unfortunately, also very much broken right now

@marc All Babies Are Different™ but really it shouldn’t be THAT bad :) You may develop new time-management superpowers!

@marc This is true of nearly all of Photoshop’s features—they’re buggy, poorly designed, inconsistent… but the competition doesn’t even try to tackle the use case.

@olmstead @marc Not totally sure about this idea, but yeah, I dislike the double-press.

@olmstead @marc The improvement they need is to go away.

@sunny I don’t like them any more than I did a year ago.

@marc Those are a *bit* too similar, but better than Apple’s cell/wifi/battery indicators which are all from different universes.

@simon_w Ah yes—I’m i credibly grateful to Sirvo for this. These indie features are super.

@conlan I had the same response. It seems a thin vehicle for actually good satire. (Is it bad thing if a vehicle is thin?)
                          mrgan
@conlan Agreed. Most legal agencies still use the same old criterion: was there a specific threat or a pattern, not just a single, generic “I hope you die / burn / etc.”

@bdougherty @stwrz @marc I think you’re thinking of iOS? There’s no such option on Yosemite yet.

@marc The session pitches it as a matter of focusing attention etc. Those non-translucent background windows look better to me. Gah.
                                mrgan
@conlan Yup. The world’s worst casino.

@jaredsinclair @marc Ha! A new confusion I noticed in 10.10: toolbar buttons look exactly the same as toolbar textboxes.

@joanna @keita Thanks, both of you! And what a nice thing to say :)
