@atpfm @siracusa @marco @liss Listening to latest ATP. Mark Cerney, original creator of Marble Madness and PS4 lead architect, has a great talk on gaming industry history, especially difficulty ramps. http://www.gdcvault.com/play/1015001/The-Long

@atpfm @siracusa @marco Great podcast. I’ve been looking at NAS options for the house, and the temptation of building FreeNAS + ZFS is offset by the laziness of going with a Synology. The show is helping clarify things. Thanks.

@nicholasshulman @atpfm @marco It’s explained at the start of the podcast: they had a failing hard drive for the first five minutes.

Oblivion was extremely pretty, a bit slow in the middle, and a complete melange of a bunch of different ideas without quite focusing on any of them. Still enjoyed it, as long as I didn’t think about it too much. My main complaint: What About Victoria?

@themagazine Ran into the uninstall/reinstall problem again today with the new issue. (Good reading, though.)

@themagazine I did that a couple of days ago, and it worked. Thanks for the response, however belated. Loved the issue.

@imyke @siracusa What does his default perl template look like and does it include UTF-8?

@siracusa Plus the Extra Credits videos, and listening to the soundtrack. And playing again after work.

@themagazine Bug in the current issue? Pawnbroker article works. The rest send me to the ‘splash’ intro article for non-subscribers.

@squozen @siracusa It was an excellent journey. All the hype put into it, and it was even better than I’d hoped. Now I get to go back and listen to all the shows @siracusa did that I skipped the first time round.

@siracusa I have spent months avoiding Journey spoilers. Tonight, I finally play.

@jdalrymple For some reason I thought you were going to link here: http://www.iconaircraft.com/ (Though I think getting up to 50kt in the thing you link to would be far more terrifying.)

@siracusa My personal preference for 10.9 would be a real filesystem, but I’m not holding my breath any longer.

@siracusa Don’t know about ‘all things to all people’. I think it’s reasonable to expect a (very expensive) retina-class display given the target market. Just don’t know if it can be Thunderbolt. 20 Gbps channels enable 4k/retina iMac/mini/rMBP video out.
                              mkellis
@siracusa Excellent to-do list. I’m curious if you include external retina display support in that, both the display itself, and the Thunderbolt 2 type speed necessary to support it. Presumably the MacPro replacement would have it.

@themagazine Listening to your CMD+SPACE interview. I hope you don’t give up the tech aspect entirely. You don’t have to be Wired, but longer articles on the cultural aspects of tech from a knowledgeable viewpoint are always welcome.

Just rode the Georgetown Loop Railroad. http://georgetownlooprr.com/ Nephews excited that Santa was there, but totally stoked for rarer Mrs. Claus sighting. Great Christmas treat.

@dan Probably getting a lot of people saying this, but I'm getting a DNS error on store.5by5.tv.

@siracusa It’s been a great run. Hypercritical has been one of my favorite podcasts, and one of two which got me into regular podcast listening. You always have something interesting to say. Hope you’ll come back for one encore show if Apple replaces HFS+.

@marco It's not like Twinkies don't have a pretty short shelf life, either. If wikipedia's right, all those eBay mavens have less than 30 days to clear their stock. Wonder how many of them are aware of that.
