I decided to stop exposing my visitor's browsing history to the spy agencies's prying eyes: michelf.ca is now all served on #HTTPS.

Counterparts Lite 1.1 is adding support for XLIFF files. And you can lease multi-user licenses to your translators. http://michelf.ca/blog/2014/counterparts-lite-xliff/

Counterparts Lite is actually derived from a bigger project of mine which is not complete yet. You can probably guess its name though.

My new app: Counterparts Lite, a good editor for Cocoa string table files (.strings). http://michelf.ca/software/counterparts-lite/

My one year old Magic Trackpad is starting to emit random clicks even, sometime even when I’m to touching it. :-( Now I find myself wishing that thing wasn’t built as a disposable object.

Built from scratch a store on my website using Stripe. It’s not too hard, but you have to think carefully about error handling: you don’t want to double charge by accident for instance, or deliver before the charge is successful. Also, network failures…

Sometime I forget to announce things on app.net, such like Black Light 2.0 and Gamma Control 4.0. But a little late is better than never, so http://michelf.ca/blog/2013/black-light-2-gamma-control-4/

New version of PHP Markdown is out. Now with Github-style backtick fenced code blocks in Markdown Extra, which was probably overdue. http://michelf.ca/php-markdown

And of course the Mac App Store won’t tell me how many of my customers are still on Snow Leopard.

If I keep supporting OS X 10.6 for a new version of app then I have to put a disclaimer every time I mention a certain feature. But except for one tiny little convenient new feature everything works fine on 10.6. Frustrating.

It’s funny how iOS 7 Simulator manages to simulate an iPad that does not exist: non-retina with blur effect under the button bars. Is that an upcoming device? That said, there is no way to make it simulate non-blurred bars either.

Updated iTunes Connect question when submitting: "Are you updating this app because of a significant usability issue or for a legal issue, such as infringement?" Necessary now that Apple allows downloading old versions of iOS apps on older iOS.

@edwardloveall @siracusa When you think of it, every file is a number. Even a 2Gb video file is just a big number. It’s funny how a big number can infringe on copyrights or patents.

Just tried this in C++11: "for (int value : {1, 3, 8}) …", and it works! Nothing special here if you’re used to other languages, except the way to do that used to much more arcane.

PHP SmartyPants gets the same treatment as PHP Markdown: it becomes a PHP 5.3 library package for packagist. https://packagist.org/packages/michelf/php-smartypants
