Still bummed that Backblaze deleted my backups after I didn’t notice that my credit card had expired. Technically my fault, but now there’s no chance I’ll ever use or recommend the service. Trying Arq 4 now.
@bogo_lode They probably did. I keep most bulk email out of my normal inbox. I still think for a backup service, they shouldn’t be so trigger-happy to clear it. (I don’t delete data for cancelled accounts on my Watermark.io just in case someone re-joins.)
@manton As I longtime Arq user, I really like it. Cost per month has been great, and I like knowing that the data is in *my* account. Similar to ADN really.
Application has been solid as well.
@manton That’s disappointing. I’ve been using and pimping Backblaze to friends and clients for years. Off to double check my credit card expiration date now.
@jeromekoehler@manton True, but that doesn't really bother me as much. It's not like you would use it for longer periods of time. Usually it just sits in the background somewhere and does its thing :)
@jeromekoehler@casualkitchen Not being a native app would mostly only bother me if they also don’t handle “native-y” things like Mac OS X file metadata. I assume they do, but I know early on some backup apps had trouble with that.
