@waynedahlberg thanks for your sacrifice. I’m excited for your presentation!

@danielpunkass I don’t fully understand them. You can’t self-update without write permission for the app’s path. I think the problem is that the current implementation could be hacked to write arbitrary files in any location. No worse than no sandboxing…

@danielpunkass a modern, maintained, secure version of Sparkle would be so nice to have for a whole lot of Mac developers, so I’m glad good people are still working on it.

@danielpunkass Cool. I’m quite interested to follow your progress. I’m using my own fork combining work done by @samdeane and pornel. It's working fine, but the XPC implementation has the lingering security issues that Andy has pointed out.

@danielpunkass are you aiming to support sandboxed apps too?

last week: notification blocks are bad. this week: KVO is bad. my take: these guys need to do a bit more coding and a bit less blogging.

@neonacho what about it makes you say that? I haven’t used it on iOS yet, but using it in iTunes has been OK for me so far.

Maybe all the noise about #skeuomorphism is just the lingering excitement from learning a fancy new word 18 months ago. #notRightOrWrong

@sethjenks mine’s a little dusty too. I’m trying to post here more, but I’m not doing a great job so far.

I should put off working on problems like this more often! Wait 6 months, and someone else will have solved it and put their solution on github ;-).

My biggest wish for OS X 10.9 right now is an equivalent to UIManagedDocument. Getting a Core Data-using NS(Persistent)Document subclass to play well with autosave is way too hard.

@wdc thanks for the recommendation, looks great. Have you worked with him?

Anyone have a personal recommendation for a really good Mac app icon designer? I need an icon for a new app I'm working on.
