    @rabryst thank you. Earlier this week I wondered about making it to Canada's West this summer. I'll have to give it some more thought.

      Barring catastrophe and bad luck, by this time next week I won’t be in Texas. The plan is to head northeast, but not to THE Northeast.

        @mandyd apparently an ineffective one.

          Time is my enemy but not in the way you think.

            @mandyd well, I'm more interested in the words. I don't need a tattoo of the hand. I've actually done that to my hand. I don't recommend it.

              @doctorlinguist I dare you to let him pass you, then cut him off.

                @rabryst have I shown you my film debut? I wasn't cool enough to have any lines, though. This one was conceived of, shot, edited, and published in about 6 hours, the editing done in an RV rolling through Missouri.

                  The Google Hangout should have worked for my friend, but it failed for no reason. Timed out on his end, while interviewer waited with no connection attempts coming through. It seems great for participants in the same company, but shit for other setups.

                    @jnm I hear that's not so unusual. Driver pay and benefits are really good.

                      This morning I’m trying to decide whether I should push away or encourage the mischief maker inside me.

                        Does Google Hangouts still require having a Google+ account? Asking for a friend who’s been asked to a job interview over hangout. Am I being stubborn, or is this stupid? I guess the tech is convenient, but not everyone has or wants access to it.

                          @redqueencoder instead it's supposed to feel like you're both handcuffed to a truck bed liner and working together like in the movie Sahara ;)

                            @redqueencoder from where I stand, you made the right call. And that's the rub. Being able to save ourselves sometimes requires leaving others behind.

                              @redqueencoder we both had this trouble in my marriage. I didn't realize I had to fix things for myself, and she expected me to fix everything for her and blamed me for much of her inner turmoil. I'm glad I survived that time to see my way out of it.

                                @pamdavis in the people I've observed #3 (the point quoted in the title) IS the most horrible truth until they find their own way to that understanding. Reaching that point is liberating, but just as fraught as liberating an occupied nation caught in war.
