@dru_satori I'm sure golf will survive. It's still a huge sport and makes millions on television as well.

@dru_satori I'm really not anti-golf, but if it is losing popularity, the reasons are obvious to me. Many golf courses here are "rich white men" clubs.

@dru_satori I live in The Woodlands, which has several golf courses and country clubs in it. The number of people than live here versus the number than can afford to use those courses is huge. Golf is an elitist sport. It's that simple.

@dru_satori I know it's not an Onion article, that was just the title of the post. I could care less about the $$ generated, think of how many people occupy the space of a golf course during each day. It's tiny compared to public parks.

→ This article about golf is not, as far as I can tell, from The Onion http://www.nytimes.com/2014/04/19/sports/golf/in-a-hole-golf-considers-digging-a-wider-one.html?_r=0 The other problem with golf is how much land, water, and resources are wasted.

Just got a call today from the ICU at Conroe Regional Medical Center saying they found my father-in-law's wheelchair. I called asking about it in mid-March. He passed away on Feb. 9. I guess late is better than never.

I spent hours playing with this as a kid and getting frustrated at the pins slipping and pens not working. Also, no undo kinda sucked, but still lots of fun. >> @bagelturf: An original Spriograph; from the late sixties I think. http://img.ly/yFi3

@bagelturf That was the Spirograph that I had as a kid. It was so cool, until the pins moved or the inner disc slipped a gear and ruined minutes of focused circling.

@mdhughes Well, that's the other reason—my palette isn't that discerning.

"The guys at my office have been drinking a lot of Macallan 18." At $200 per bottle, I don't think I could justify it. I'm not that generous with myself. My wife has bought me $100 whisky, but I can't do it.
