@johngordon Shitty Apple bug, and childish dev response. He's lost my business, which is disappointing since CloudPull was a useful app.

@johngordon To be clear, this whole situation is Apple's problem. No matter who's being childish, it's Apple's ecosystem that's failing. Apple needs to find a way to get these devs to play nice or the devs will go out of business and that's bad for Apple.

@gaelicwizard Feels like 3rd party software in general is of less interest to Apple.

@gaelicwizard @johngordon Why is developer childish? Lots of developers pulling out of App Store. It just isn’t worth the benefits on OS X.

@gaelicwizard did say this is really Apple's failure. Seems like they just don't care. // @oluseyi @clarkgoble

@oluseyi @gaelicwizard @johngordon Even independent of rules there are lots of reasons to leave App Store. Updates happen immediately. You get upgrade pricing. You can contact your customers. Downside is no iCloud or a few related APIs.

@oluseyi @gaelicwizard @johngordon Honestly I think for a large number of apps on OS X it just makes far more sense to be outside the store. I can’t blame BBEdit for instance. I’ve started buying all my OS X apps outside of store if they offer it.

@oluseyi @johngordon @gaelicwizard The main benefit is that it does get you noticed by many more people than normal.

@johngordon @oluseyi @gaelicwizard Somewhat, but primarily for more obscure apps. Apps by established vendors aren’t apt to have malware.

@clarkgoble @johngordon "I'll take my ball and go home" is a childish response that's harmful to customers (i.e., me).

@johngordon @clarkgoble Apple's stupidity doesn't justify dev's stupidity. I really don't care who's fault it is; this bickering is a problem and needs to stop.
