    @aurynn @cgiffard I used to moderate a ratings/feedback group on Flickr years ago. It started out well, but eventually degenerated to “sucks” or “awesome” comments. Both types of feedback are useless.

      @aurynn sadly, I don’t think so :(

        +∞ RP @cgiffard: POSIX should’ve included STDUI as well as STDOUT/STDERR, where you can pipe progress bars and stuff you’d never want in a file.

          @spacekatgal you could say that about most online comments, but I agree that the ones on articles about gender politics are orders of magnitude creepier.

            How many pedants does it take to change a light globe? https://photos.app.net/11993335/1

              @jasonsmith I dunno. I kind of like the international-style chargers.

                @piemeson yep. Try updating via iTunes instead of OTA. You have to install iTunes 10.11 (or whatever the latest version is)

                  @jasonsmith oh that’s interesting. That’s the charger that the US has had since forever, but for AU sockets.

                    @spacekatgal FWIW, my tip for iOS developers is to look at how you can better appeal to Asian markets.

                      @spacekatgal me neither, but telling such people to butt out is likely to have the opposite effect ;) Also it felt hard to answer the question without either feeling like a cheerleader, or being intellectually dishonest.

                        @spacekatgal I figured :) FTR, the reason I felt your question was combative was that it was a leading question and you seemed to be taking a swipe at “fanbois”.

                          @spacekatgal if your business is critically sensitive to where *any* tech platform that you don’t control will be in 5 years time, you should probably give up now. I’m pretty sure you already understand that :)

                            @spacekatgal platform growth (note: NOT market share) is the key for iOS developers. If that stagnates, then you will have a problem sustaining a business.

                              @spacekatgal I’m not an iOS developer, but if I were, I’d be less worried about product innovations and look more for signs that Apple is losing interest in the product. The way the App Store works (no upgrade pricing), innovations can cost developers.
