@patrickrhone@mschechter you could use Reminders.app either way.
If you disable badges, lock screen, banners and alerts, but leave in Notification Center, pull down on screen to get your due actions.
Enable any or all of them and you get your prompts.
@jamesgowans I have this set up with a few apps like Day One, Instacast, Letterpress and it's great. Doesn't buzz and interrupt me but it's there as a quiet reminder until I do it. @patrickrhone@mschechter
@mschechter I've turned off buzzes and badges for email so Notification Center is my inbox's inbox. Pull down, check to see if anything is urgent from the subject line (most often not), peck at that tiny x, and I'm on my way. @jamesgowans@patrickrhone
@nickwynja@jamesgowans@patrickrhone Same here. Goes to the same distractibility issue. But something I check is important, something that reminds me is urgent. Anything in Due is something I cannot miss. That's why I depend its persistence.
@nickwynja@mschechter yep, same system here.
Notification Center is Weather, Calendar, Reminders (next 5).
Then alerts from email, calls, apps, messages etc.
Hard landscape, then soft landscape, then “urgent” requests.
@formfireglass@jamesgowans@patrickrhone I have, but I'm not in love with the app and I NEED the persistent reminders. It's annoying to have to try and guess when my subway gets home, but I just miss single notifications.
@formfireglass@jamesgowans@patrickrhone Wish Due's USP was an option on several apps :) I keep saying this but I still want Listary, Clear, Due and Checkmark to have a baby. The ideal list/reminders app doesn't exist yet.
@mschechter Good overview. I can't tell you how much I'd love the grocery list tied to 'grocery stores' and not just a specific location. Persistent reminders would be great for us ADHD types. @jamesgowans@patrickrhone
@michaelramm Yeah, but you introduced them to me :). But you're right. A sincere thanks to @mikevardy for your work on these articles. They are really helping with, not just my workflow, but how I think and approach using of my iPhone. Thanks!
