    How is this the pre-installed file browser on a Nexus 5?! Access to the root folder full of system files, awful app design and banner ads. Android is just weird. - photos.app.net/20428557/1

      @grillpanda Thanks! Both look interesting…

        Finally abandoning Google Apps for my custom domained email addresses. Where should I go? Fastmail looks ok. Any great new email hosting services I should know about? Or did it suddenly become nontrivial to host my own…?

              @weekendaway Hey. Good to see another band here. We're few and far between. ;)

                Want to set up a music blog for my dad to share stuff he's discovered with his friends. What's the best platform to use? Requirements: easy to use; easy to embed Spotify, Bandcamp, YouTube; email subscription. Tumblr? Wordpress? Something else?

                  I haven’t mentioned it over here yet, but you’ll probably appreciate this more than the Twitterers: our new music video was made entirely on a ZX Spectrum. Is that not amazing? http://www.clashmusic.com/videos/candy-says-kiss-kill

                    This is a brilliant initiative for today - http://harkive.org - thousands of people logging all of their music listening today, and writing about it, talking about it, having fun with it. JOIN IN! :)

                      @kosso Trigger is about JS-based native stuff too, but not sure how they compare. Trigger’s Reload feature is pretty awesome though – roll out incremental changes without an App Store update. Handy for posting new songs without building a full CMS.

                        @kosso Ha. Forgot about that one. I haven’t tried Titanium. Worth exploring? I’m quite enjoying learning about app dev through the “painting by numbers” trigger.io (it has its limitations of course).

                          I made the back button work like it should on Android, but making it more native-feeling will require actual Java coding. Saving that for later. It would be great to swap the trigger.io tabBar out for a native ActionBar...

                            Used trigger.io and a £30 Android phone to build, test and publish an Android version [ihm.gs] of the Candy Says app last night. Technology is cool.

                              By far the most amusing and insanely talented performance I've seen in a while. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=dnDeo0yhIws

                                Discovering the overwhelming variety of Android back/menu on/off-screen button combinations. Is there something useful I can read to find out more about designing app navigation UI for Android or do I just go into Carphone Warehouse and try every phone?

                                    A few thoughts on rolling our own band app – how cool it is, and also how it needs to be better… http://tumblr.ihatemornings.com/post/52741143065/boldly-coding-apps-where-no-band-has-er-gone

                                      @solobasssteve Good ol’ HTML/CSS/JS, then packaged it up with http://trigger.io and sent push notifications with http://parse.com – easy. ;)

                                        Posted our first update to the Candy Says app last night. The user experience needs some work, but it's pretty exciting to be pushing our latest garage recording and (extensive) liner notes straight to people's phones! Image [photos.app.net]
