Autopsy is an alternative to SleuthKit’s command line interface. Here’s an approach to: “Accessing Autopsy V2 on the FOR2014 EC2 Instance” http://users.ox.ac.uk/~coml0454/blog/2014/09/14/accessing-autopsy-on-the-for2014-ec2-instance/

For this week’s teaching I created instructions for the students to create the EC2 instance for the exercises:“Creating and Accessing the FOR2014 EC2 Instance” http://users.ox.ac.uk/~coml0454/blog/2014/08/27/creating-and-accessing-the-for2014-ec2-instance/

To distribute the material to the students for this week’s teaching I created an Amazon Machine Image (AMI): “Creating an AMI for Classroom Use” http://users.ox.ac.uk/~coml0454/blog/2014/08/26/creating-an-ami-for-classroom-use/

To prepare for my teaching this week I created a master EC2 instance. Read my blog post: “Setting Up Sleuthkit and Autopsy on an AWS EC2 Instance” http://users.ox.ac.uk/~coml0454/blog/2014/08/25/setting-up-sleuthkit-and-autopsy-on-an-aws-ec2-instance/

@mattgemmell a good post. Thanks for sharing advise on Scrivener, the need for storyboarding and the use of the plot template.

@manton Another great feature of Octopress is that it uses Markdown as input. It’s easy to take notes and scribblings, and create blog posts, and the blog posts are portable the other way in to papers. @hiltmon did blog on Markdown http://j.mp/1lO8Ufg

@manton I’ve been using Octopress for a while and enjoy using it. The quirks I encounter are mainly because I don’t use it regularly enough to remember everything. I wrote a post on an iPad / Mac workflow: http://j.mp/1i4Yx5s

Skeuomorphic design at its best! I assume I’m the last person to notice the aluminum plate shimmer as you move your mouse across the iCloud login page in Safari on a Mac. http://www.icloud.com
