    How important was the availability of a great mobile client to you, before you would join App.net?
    realshawnking
      @panzer Not at all. Only planned on using it from the desktop for the time being. The app doesn't make the service, IMO.

        @panzer I joined with just alpha.app.net but with a 5 buck a month plan and good clients rivr netbot it might get busy in here soon.

          @panzer Not important. When I joined, the desktop website was my main mobile client. (You may probably remember)

            @panzer I was an early adopter (user ID in the 200's), so didn't really affect my joining. It does, however, affect how often I bother to check my feed. Starting to see great ones for iPhone, reasonable for Mac, but an utter dearth of options for iPad.

              @panzer not before I would join, but before I would use.

                @panzer even though I still haven't got Netbot, the news about it made me sign for App.net

                  @panzer Not that important, but until Netbot I didn’t really use app.net

                    @panzer Not important. Essential. Actually, a deal-breaker.

                      @panzer Scratch the second half of my statement for iPhone/iPad now that I've realized @NetBot is a real thing.

                        @panzer blowing through menagerie of shitty ones before finding a good one with Twitter heavily influenced my adaption to ADN. It’s a difference maker…..deal breaker.

                          @panzer I've wanted to try it for a while, and the new $36 yearly price basically had me anyway, but Netbot was the icing on the cake.

                            @chartier @panzer Didn’t affect my decision to sign up, but in hindsight, it’s critically important to me using it as anything more than a curiosity.

                              @panzer I joined when there wasn't one, but not having a good (native) one has been a key part of why I haven't been super active here.

                                @panzer it was everything. After Felix was released http://cl.ly/3u1A0t0a3F17 started to go full steam ahead for me.

                                  @panzer I think most of us joined before there were mobile apps, that said I was banking on some good ones. Wouldn't have stopped me joining but a good mobile app definitely increases my usage.

                                    @panzer on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being extremely important, I would say 7.5

                                      @panzer Was always important, but I put my faith in the community to develop the clients in the future and put my money down regardless. Would be interested to know how these responses vary by user ID. You writing a piece?

                                        @panzer not very, obvs. Having one is nice though.

                                          @panzer for a while before I joined I thought apps were important, turns out I joined when the price went down and just played with what apps there were.

                                            @panzer The lower price was enough for me to join; the great mobile client was what caused me to see I could use this day-to-day… eventually perhaps more than Twitter

                                              @panzer It was high on the list, but it didn't stop me from joining. It *did* stop me from consistently using the service, though.

                                                @panzer I’m on my phone more than I’m ever at my computer. For me, it was really important.

                                                  @panzer not important (I was one of the original backers, before launch) but good clients definitely help.

                                                    @panzer 100% crucial. i wasn’t going to join, then @netbot released. was very curious about APN but the @tapbots app is what did it for me.
