@bestoftimes Oohh I love that film! I really ought to get a copy.

I also caught the brief cameo appearance by Emacs. The cats were a bit alarmed by me yelling out “eShell!”

Just (belatedly) watched Tron Legacy. It was a fun film, but man, Young Jeff Bridges was deep in Uncanny Valley, wasn’t he?

@joanna I know! So glad I worked it out, or I would have been awake all night thinking about it 😉

@rabryst Well, it was almost that ridiculous :-). Sometimes you just have to step away from a problem for a while.

Phew! I just solved a silly problem with an analysis that held me up for half a day. I suspected that the solution would be obvious, and sure enough, after a cup of tea, it was staring me in the face!

@jussipekonen That sounds sensible. I’d recommend trying Spacemacs, even if just out of curiosity!

@bestoftimes No, it’s a new Janome machine, plus a Brother overlocker to finish the seams inside. My sewing kit has expanded slightly ;-)

I think this might well be neatest neckline band I’ve sewn so far. Image [photos.app.net]

@jussipekonen Glad to hear it! If you’re going to have a heart attack, the hospital is definitely the place to have it. @doctorlinguist @mps @joanna

We put a bird nesting box up in the garden for the first time, and have just spotted a pair of great tits checking it out. (North American friends: that’s a species of bird 😉). I thought we might have put it up too late.

@braincutlery There is that, but it doesn’t make it any easier or less painful. @hazardwarning

@braincutlery Sorry to hear that :-( I hope that things improve for you.

Odd day. I had some great work news, then spent the evening giving a talk to a much smaller audience than I had expected. Now I’m somewhere outside Nuneaton on the train, tired, and not quite sure what to make of today. Heyho.

@jussipekonen I think there’s some kind of time rift between you two that swallows hours, but only from @joanna ‘s perspective. Hours leave Finland perfectly normally, then fall into a hole somewhere between Finland and the U.S. 😉
