@rands it's Adore, but it would take the rest if our lives for me to explain why. Feel like there should be different categories for whether you know >500 Prince songs.

@garrettmurray watch 100 movies now while you can. (And FYI: @GinaTrapani's little girl showed up about 4 weeks early. :O)

@garrettmurray between you and Mixel's app store feature, my blogroll is having a really good week with Apple. :) Congrats!

@sull well, I don't care about that, but the geek narratives about ADN speak as if it were decentralized or not VC-funded or even if the platform were open source. None of these things are true.

@sull logically, you're absolutely right. There's just very little precedent for that in the web platform world. Look at Ruby on Rails or Django - they got extracted from successful apps after the fact.

@sull I agree 100% success can be defined differently. I think that's less likely given the fact that Andreessen Horowitz, Accel, et. al have invested in App.net.

@mat do let us all know who you find.

@sull yeah, I mean... AWS offers all of this in pieces, as does Azure and other platforms. There's value in knitting it together, but I just don't think platforms succeed on their own unless there's a killer app first.

@ca (worth noting, that list stopped actually driving followers to me about 18 months ago, but still interesting to a lot of folks)

@sull sure, but you could do that on Usergrid or Buddypress or Diaspora or, hell, on the LiveJournal code base. Or on Node.js. I mean, it's a great thing to be able to do, but far from unique.

@cameron haven't downloaded any apps yet except one that hooks up to the OS X notifications. May play around more later, but I just don't need *another* set of conversations to follow right now :)

@parker ah, just looked. I had no idea how many followers I have here. Those are probably just inherited from me having a lot of Twitter followers. (Only half of which I earned.)

@cameron not sure what I think of ADN yet. Like a lot of it, wary of some of it. Definitely happy for Dalton and team that they've captured some folks' attention. Mostly feels like Dreamwidth to me, if you know the reference.

@cameron ha ha, good point. I don't consider Medium to be "my blog", though.

@parker no i'm just a geek dude with a blog.

@parker it sure is better here on App.net without all those horrible, intrusive offensive advertisers, where we can get just useful, meaningful conversations like this one.

No, was just looking for an explanation of why you are acting like a child. But I'm happy you've found a good use for your $50.

@parker just curious, are you a young guy? ("connisour" isn't actually spelled that way)

@parker do you think Favstar is for egomaniacs?
