@verso The audio quality is no worse (on my stereo) than plugging the iPod into AUX directly. Audiophiles would complain, but not normal humans.

@verso The biggest issue is every month or so I need to forget/re-pair it with the iPod.

@verso Fairly well. A charge can get me through a week of 40 min each way commutes. I have it paired with both my iPhone and iPod and it picks up the currently playing source pretty well. Quality is what you would expect for BT->Aux.

Realizing more and more that tech for it’s own sake is profoundly uninteresting. Which programming language, what platform. Who cares. It’s what people, normal, non-nerds can do with tech to make their lives easier or better that is interesting.

@verso Current versions of both will open either one's libraries, so you can actually us either on a single set of photos.

@tewha @bynkii @verso End of the day I just Carbon Copy Cloned the contents of my old users directory & /usr/local/ and chowned shit back the way it was supposed to be.

@tewha @bynkii @verso I ended up having to do that since the initial startup version wouldn't see the FileVault disks. Runnin MA under that user didn't see the users on the iMac. Had to create a second user with a uname matching the one on the iMac.

@bynkii @verso Also, the fact that (Apple stock) disk encryption utter befuddled it during the initial setup is simply unacceptable.

@bynkii @verso In this case it saw my iMac's disk (FW Target Disk Mode), and transferred exactly 2 things, my username and password. Everything else reported as "Zero KB". Same thing with the TM backup of the iMac.

I can add another check in my list of times that Apple Migration Assistant has utterly failed me.
